Some things in life are meant to be shared while others most certainly are not. Of course, then there are those in-between things that could arguably go either way. For many couples, finances are a black and white issue. Most couples either have combined finances or separate finances, depending on their preferences and financial situations. Some couples may have separate accounts as well as combined accounts. It really comes down to a comfort level in most cases.

Sometimes couples choose to keep separate finances to avoid one person taking on the other person’s debt. Others feel finances are a private personal matter, which can be a bit concerning in cases of marriage with separate finances.

Customers will benefit from a fairer exchange rate when using RBS and NatWest credit cards abroad.

There was an outcry when it emerged that RBS was using its own exchange rate, which could add an extra 2% to the cost of overseas transactions.

From July 1, the bank will base its rates on standard Visa and MasterCard exchange rates, which offer a better deal.

Tesco bowed to similar pressure at the end of January.

It was clear from feedback that customers wanted a more standardised approach to how exchange rates are calculated and one that was easier for them to understand. As a result, we are changing the system, says an RBS spokesman.

It is quite important to bear in mind with our financial capabilities every now and then it is because you wont ever know the time when you actually need a big amount of money. Financially stable means that you are capable and stable enough to face your daily costs and that there is still some thing left for you to put it inside your savings account. On the other hand there are times wherein even the money that you saved is not enough to compensate the requirements of your family. This often occur in times of emergency.
